Galapagos Island Scuba Diving FAQs & Information about Galapagos

1. - Where are the Galapagos Islands?
They are in the Pacific Ocean 600 miles west of the Republic of Ecuador. Ninety minutes flight from Mainland Ecuador.
2. - When Should I arrive in Ecuador?
You have to arrive to Ecuador at least one day prior to the Galapagos cruise departure. We can arrange one night stay-over in either Guayaquil or Quito.
3. - Do I need a valid passport?
U.S citizens are required to have a valid passport. Other citizens should verify with their own embassies to find out if they require any visa.
4. - How many days is your Galapagos cruise and how many dives can I make?
Most charters are for 8 day/7nights. Two dives are guarantee per day.
5. - What is included in a Galapagos Diving trip?
It includes accommodations aboard the vessel, diving, compressed air, tanks, weights, and weight belts, 3 meals, potable water, Dive Master.
6. - Where do our Galapagos Diving trips starts?
All our vessels start their diving cruises at Baltra airport.
7. - What will I see on my Galapagos Island diving experience?
Large schools of hammerhead sharks. White tip and Galapagos sharks. Different types of rays like Mantas, Eagle, Spotted rays, turtles, sea lions, fur seals, jack, tunas and 3 kinds of snappers, dolphins plus large whale sharks are also often seen.
8. - Do I need to pay any Galapagos National Park fee ?
You are entitled to pay the Galapagos national Park fee of U.S. $ 100, oo per person.
9. - What is the Galapagos water temperature?
It varies from 65 F to 85 F; we do highly recommend a 5 mm wet suit.
10. - Is there a dinghy diving?
Yes, almost all dives are made for the vessel dinghy.
11. - Where is the nearest recompression chamber?
We have one in Puerto Ayora, (Galapagos Islands).
